Terms of Service

Welcome to TAWASOL (the “Service”). At present, the Service is provided to you by Middle East Research Technologies (“MERT”), and is subject to the incorporated Terms of Service (“TOS”).

By accessing and using the Service, you are entering into a contract with MERT, and agree to be bound by the terms of the TOS. MERT reserves the right to update and modify the TOS from time-to-time and without notice to you. It is your sole responsibility to check regularly for any update or modification to the TOS.

Website Usage

The Service offers registered members (“Member(s)”) the opportunity to participate in online survey research (“Research”), anything from a poll, online or video diary, online survey, through to live online focus groups. Research is either directly commissioned by product manufacturers or service suppliers themselves, by market research agencies and/or initiated by the Service itself for PR purposes or any other purpose (“Commissioner(s)”).

MERT makes no representation or warranty (either express or implied) as to the completeness of the information or its suitability for any particular purpose. Membership of TAWASOL

Membership to the Service is open to any person aged 15 and above, residing and/or originally from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia or Egypt.

For the membership to be valid, the Members must validate their registration by activating their account via the email and/or SMS message they receive. Only one registration per Member is permitted on the Service site. Where the Member has duplicate accounts, then all accounts shall be terminated and all accumulated points therein shall be forfeited.

Accordingly, you understand, recognize and agree that MERT reserves the right, at any time to terminate the membership of any person that does not meet the membership requirements (such as but not limited to: being at least 15 years old and/or meeting the nationality and residency requirements) or that violates the TOS.

Member Responsibilities

Each Member agrees not to provide false or misleading personal information, and, in particular, agrees not to register under a false identity. Each Member is responsible for using the online information management system to immediately report all changes to the information he or she provided at registration.

Participation in Research

Members who have signed up to participate in Research (“Research Participant(s)”) may be sent Research invitations by e-mail or by login into their account on the Service. The Research Participant is free to choose whether or not to participate in Research to which he or she has been invited. The Research Participant has no legal right to be invited by the Service to participate in Research. The Research Participant accepts the obligation to fill out Research accurately, and in particular, to not give any false or inappropriate answers.

Participation in Research may start with filter questions to determine whether a Research Participant belongs to the right target group for a given Research. Research will automatically end if, after these filter questions are answered, it is found out that the Research Participant does not belong to the requested target group. Similarly, Research may end if a quota is reached for a particular target (such as a specific number of males or females).

Cancellation of participation is possible at all times and can be carried out in the "Unsubscribe" area. Furthermore, cancellation takes place automatically when the Service is terminated.

Liability is Excluded

By accessing this Service, Members agree that MERT will not be liable for any loss and/or damages whatsoever Members may suffer and in particular.

MERT will not be liable for special, consequential or incidental damages or damages for loss of profits, loss of revenue, or loss of use, arising out of or in connection with the Service website or the information or material contained in it, whether any claim is brought in contract, or tort (including negligence) or otherwise.

MERT has no responsibility whatsoever for injuries, losses, or damages of any kind that result from acceptance, possession, or use of any Service rewards, points, vouchers, coupons, donations, 'raffle' tickets or merchandise redeemed with the Service rewards and points. MERT is not responsible for lost, stolen vouchers, coupons, prizes or merchandise sent to Members.

Earning and Redeeming Rewards and Points

The processes of earning and redeeming Service rewards (“Reward(s)”) and/or points (“Point(s)”) are subject to regulations as outlined in the Reward Rules. These rules form part of the TOS of the Service website and are subject to our overriding rights to vary them from time-to-time and in whatever manner as we shall deem fit.

Rewards Rules

The Research Participant will have a chance to win Rewards and/or Points for Research he or she participated in. The type and amount of these Rewards and/or Points are normally specified in the invitation e-mail, SMS or on the Service website.

Points accumulated can be redeemed at Souq.com through coupon codes and/or can be donated to a Humanitarian Organization. Research Participants might also win Rewards by entering into a monthly draw, in case the invitation and/or the information on the Service site conveys it.

If the Reward is a cash Reward, the Research Participant’s bank account number and SWIFT number might be required. The information given by the Research Participant is destroyed upon the confirmation of receipt from the bank. Winners will be notified by e-mail or SMS.

For Research Participants who want to redeem their Points on Souq.com, they will be sent coupon codes, representing the Points the Research Participants selected on the Service for redemption. MERT is not responsible for wrong number of Points selected and any Points’ loss due to that. The Research Participants agree to adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the Souq.com coupon codes:

Research Participants can earn points for referring members in accordance to the information provided on the Service Site. MERT reserves the right to verify identity of each referred member. Research Participants are entitled to receiving points for referring new, real members who successfully complete the registration and verification processes. The maximum number of Souq.com vouchers will not exceed two in six months for points accumulated through member referral program

  • The coupon codes can only be used once per Research Participant;
  • The coupon codes are valid only on purchases made from Souq.com and Souq.com mobile app in the Research Participant’s country of residence;
  • The coupon codes are valid for 3 months from date of issue;
  • Minimum redemption amount to be the same or greater than the coupon amount;
  • Shipping fee (if applicable) be paid Cash On Delivery (COD).

Type of Draws

The Service will be providing two types of draws (“Draw(s)”):

  • Survey Completion Draws:
    This Draw will be held at the end of each month. The dates can be changed at anytime at the Service’s discretion. Once the full payment of the study has been received from the Commissioner, the Draw will be held at MERT offices. The Reward will only be given to Research Participants residing in the countries the survey was targeting, and who have completed the survey, in accordance with the TOS. All Research Participants not adhering with the TOS of MERT will not be part of the draw and their account will be up for deletion without any prior notice.  
  • Recruitment Campaign Draws:
    These Draws will be held at the end of the each recruitment campaign. The campaign running date and the Draw date will be communicated separately within each individual campaign. The dates can be changed at anytime at the Service’s discretion

Participants eligible for the recruitment campaign Draw are only the ones that have met and without exceptions all of the following:

  • The participant has completed the full registration form;
  • The participant has replied to the activation e-mail or SMS;
  • The participant has successfully been activated on the Service website;
  • The participant is aged 15 and above, residing and/or originally from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia or Egypt;
  • The participant has accepted and agrees to adhere to the TOS.

All participants not adhering to the TOS of MERT will not be part of the recruitment campaign Draw and their account will be up for deletion without any prior notice.

The Service reserves the right for the selection of final winners for both types of Draws (survey completion and recruitment campaigns) by an unbiased impartial committee and nobody can challenge the final decision. Based on these criteria, the Service will select the final winner and will reserve the right to the selection of the winner. The decision of the Service shall be final and no correspondence or discussions shall be entered into.

Member Account, Password and Security

Members will receive a password and account designation upon completing the Service registration process. Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under Members’ password and account. Members agree to immediately notify the Service of any unauthorized use of Members’ password or account or any other breach of security. MERT cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from Members’ failure to comply with this Section.

Links Usage

MERT accepts no responsibility or liability in respect of the material on any website, or one Member may access through this one, which is not under the control of MERT.

Using our Property

The names, logos, icons and graphics used on the Service website in connection with or identifying the products and/or services of the Service are proprietary marks of MERT. Members’ access does not imply a license to reproduce, transmit and/or distribute this information or these names, logos, icons and graphics in any form or by any means. Members must first obtain prior written consent from MERT.


The Research Participant agrees to hold in strict confidence and to not disclose to any other parties information learned in connection with any survey, project, questionnaire or other market research activity related to MERT.

Privacy and E-mail Advertisements

The privacy of personal data is of utmost importance to MERT. Please read about this topic in the Privacy Policy


Members agree that MERT may, under certain circumstances and without prior notice, immediately terminate Members’ account, and access to the Service. Cause for such termination shall include, but not be limited to, (a) breaches or violations of the TOS or other incorporated agreements or guidelines, (b) requests by law enforcement or other government agencies, (c) a request by Members (self-initiated account deletions), (d) discontinuance or material modification to the Service (or any part thereof), (e) unexpected technical or security issues or problems, and (f) extended periods of inactivity.

Termination of Members’ account includes (a) removal of access to all offerings within the Service and b) removal of all unclaimed Rewards and/or Points to Members’ account. Further, Members agree that all terminations for cause shall be made in MERT’s sole discretion and that MERT shall not be liable to Members or any third-party for any termination of Members’ account, or access to the Service.

Legal Effect

If any provision of this notice shall be unlawful, void or unenforceable for any reason, then that provision shall be deemed severable to the extent that it is unlawful, void or enforceable, but shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

As used in this TOS the expression MERT means Middle East Research Technologies and its subsidiary and associated companies.

This TOS shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates and is subject to the legal authorities in the jurisdiction of Dubai.
